When you think of high quality bodies of water in NW Wisconsin the Flambeau River basin is right near the top of the list. Flowing southwesterly through the tall timber of the Flambeau State Forest from the Turtle Flambeau Flowage in Iron County, the Flambeau River has entertained boaters and anglers for generations. This great river is also responsible for creating some of the top fisheries and recreational lakes in all of Northern Wisconsin. Lakes such as the Big Falls Flowage, Dairyland Flowage, Thornapple Flowage and Lake Holcombe are all part of this pristine watershed.
